Philips XL14-3 xMATRIX the World’s First 4D Linear Ultrasound Probe
Philips’ new XL14-3 xMatrix Linear array transducer for vascular and venous ultrasound may be the biggest advance in vascular ultrasound in the last 20 years. Philips has created the world’s first 4D vascular ultrasound probe to further improve their line of xMatrix probes including:
- Philips X5-1 Matrix Cardiac
- Philips X7-2 Matrix Cardiac
- Philips X7-2t Matrix Transesophageal
- Philips X8-2t Matrix Transesophageal
These newest xMatrix probes are able to run on the Philips CX50, Philips Affiniti 70, and the Philips Epiq 7.
3D/4D Vascular Ultrasound Specifications
The Philips XL14-3 has the capability to image vascular and arterial anatomy in amazing 3D/4D with an easy-to-use ICON driven workflow through xMATRIX. Cardiologists can see directly into a vessel, vain, or artery to evaluate plaque build-up, spatial location, and composition, as well as 3D-flow data.
xMATRIX is Philips’s live 4D ultrasound transducer technology, that utilizes xPlane imaging software to create full two-plane image rendering. In regards to vascular imaging, now anything is possible with the new XL14-3 and xMATRIX.
XRES Pro
The Philips XL14-3 utilizes Philips’s next-generation image processing tool called XRES Pro. XRES Pro enhances vascular imaging by providing delineation of vessel interfaces and enhanced plaque texture conspicuity, of which ultrasound probes haven’t been previously capable of before. Philips XRES Pro increases diagnostic confidence during vascular exams, including those that are technically challenging.
